About Sherwood Park
Sherwood Park grew up around a golf course. The houses line Lowson Boulevard and Sherwood Boulevard off Military Trail, south of Atlantic Avenue, and the Sherwood Park course at its center opened in the 1960s; GolfPass lists it as closed in 2018.
The county roll counts 143 houses on the Sherwood Park plat and its replat. The oldest dates to 1960, the median to 1974, and nine in ten were finished by 1986, with a few built since. The typical house has about 2,200 square feet of living area on a lot of about 18,500 square feet, large for an in-town lot.
The Enclave at Sherwood, on Matilda Court, Geillis Path, Zelda Lane and Scramble Way, added 79 houses in 2024 and 2025 on part of the former golf course. A 2021 Sun-Sentinel report described the plan as a 79-home gated community overseen by Pulte Group. The typical Enclave house has about 2,150 square feet.
