Overview

About Cinquez Park

Cinquez Park carries one of the oldest stories in Jupiter. In the 1940s developer Peter Yancy subdivided 54 acres here and named the development and its streets for prominent historical figures, including Joseph Cinquez, leader of the 1839 uprising aboard the ship Amistad. A Florida historical marker tells the story.

The marker places the start of settlement in this part of West Jupiter in 1904, when settlers from north Florida and South Carolina homesteaded tracts of 40 to 160 acres. Residents farmed and worked in ferneries, dairies, groves, boatbuilding and on the railroad.

The county roll shows old and new side by side. The oldest recorded home dates to 1950, but half the homes on the roll were built in 2014 or later, so a street can hold a mid-century house next to a new one. Most homes run from about 1,200 to 2,100 square feet. The neighborhood is recorded on two plats, Cinquez Park and its Second Addition.

The Town of Jupiter park of the same name sits on West Indiantown Road at the neighborhood’s edge, with trails, a lake and a dog park. I-95 at Indiantown Road is a short drive west.
