Overview
A Town Built Around the Water
Jupiter sits at the north end of Palm Beach County, where the Loxahatchee River meets the Intracoastal and runs out through the inlet to the Atlantic.
East of US 1 the town is beach and barrier island: Carlin Park, Jupiter Beach Park and a long run of public sand along A1A, condominium buildings on Ocean Trail Way and A1A, and the Bluffs reaching from the ocean to the Intracoastal. Along the Intracoastal and the river are the boating neighborhoods and the club communities. Inland, Abacoa’s town center anchors the newer neighborhoods, and past the Turnpike the lots open up into the acreage of Jupiter Farms.
That range is why the Jupiter market is so wide. Condominiums are the entry point, houses in established neighborhoods sit in the middle, and estates on the water and in the clubs are at the top.
What we watch for buyers here: each community’s association rules, the flood zone and elevation street by street, the condition of seawalls and docks, and club membership terms where they apply. The community guides cover those one community at a time.

Short-Term Rentals in Jupiter
Many of our buyers rent here before they buy. A month or a season in a furnished home is the easiest way to learn Jupiter: the drive, the beach, the club, the quiet weeks in summer. When the right home comes up, you are already here to see it.
Leases of six months or less carry Florida sales tax and the county tourist development tax. For winter homes priced from $10,000 a month, see Luxury Rentals.

Since 1696
A Short History of Jupiter
People have lived at the Jupiter Inlet for thousands of years. The inlet, the river and the lighthouse shaped the town, and they still shape its neighborhoods today.
- Before 1700
The Jobe people lived at the inlet. Spanish maps wrote their name as Jobe; English mapmakers heard Jove, the Roman god, and wrote Jupiter.
- 1696
Jonathan Dickinson’s ship wrecked near Jupiter Island. His journal is one of the earliest English accounts of this coast, and the state park north of town carries his name.
- 1838
Fort Jupiter was built during the Second Seminole War, and the Battles of the Loxahatchee were fought along the river that January.
- 1860
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse was lit on July 10, 1860. Lt. George G. Meade, later the Union general at Gettysburg, chose the site and drew the first design. It went dark in the Civil War and was relit in 1866.
- 1889
The Celestial Railroad opened: 7½ miles of narrow-gauge track from Jupiter to Juno, with stops at Mars and Venus. It ran until 1895.
- 1894
Henry Flagler’s Florida East Coast Railway reached Jupiter, and the town’s center moved west of the inlet.
- 1925
The Town of Jupiter was incorporated on February 9, 1925.
- 1985
The Northwest Fork of the Loxahatchee became Florida’s first National Wild and Scenic River on May 17, 1985.
- 1998
Roger Dean Stadium opened in Abacoa on February 28, 1998, and the town center grew up around it.

Relocating
Moving Here From Out of State?
Our relocation guides start with the place you know. Each one pairs the neighborhoods you love back home with the towns here that feel the same, side by side, with what to see and where to start looking.
Work With Monika
Your Next Chapter Starts With a Conversation
Every move starts a new chapter: a first home, more room, a place on the water, a winter home that becomes year-round. That deserves more than a search bar.
So we start with a conversation. What should the next few years look like? What can you not give up? I listen, then shape the search around your answers, so you only see places that fit and know what each one costs to own.
From there, my team and I handle the details: visits around your schedule, documents read before you ask, questions answered the same day.
“From start to finish, Monika was on top of every detail… I would use Monika again in a heartbeat!”
“Monika made the process not only easy for us, but enjoyable and stress free.”
“Monika sold the house in 1 day! What else can you ask for! Premium service in every way.”
“We were from out of state and only had 2 days to look at homes. Monika was able to orient us to the area very quickly.”
“She was excellent with follow through and proved to be absolutely knowledgeable and efficient.”
“It’s a pleasure to work with her and I know I can count on her to answer all my questions and concerns.”
Questions
Questions Buyers Ask About Jupiter
Which Jupiter neighborhoods are not gated?
Much of Jupiter is ungated, including the Bluffs, Jupiter Farms, most of the older neighborhoods around downtown and many of Abacoa’s neighborhoods. Gated communities include Admirals Cove, Jonathan’s Landing, the Bear’s Club, the Loxahatchee Club, Jupiter Country Club, Rialto and Sonoma Isles. Tell us which you prefer and we will narrow the list.
What does a home in Jupiter cost?
In the 12 months through October 2026, the median Jupiter home sold for $735,000, about $414 per square foot, across 1,821 sales. The middle 80% sold between $329,000 and $2,300,000: condominiums at the entry point, established neighborhoods in the middle, and estates on the water and in the clubs at the top. The live listings on this page show current asking prices.
Do I have to join the club to buy in a club community?
It depends on the community. At Admirals Cove and the Loxahatchee Club, membership comes with the home; at Jonathan’s Landing it is optional. Terms and costs change, so we confirm the current rules in writing for any club home.
Can I keep a boat in Jupiter?
Yes. Communities on the Intracoastal and the Loxahatchee have private docks, and several have marinas inside the gate. The Jupiter Inlet is the way out to the ocean; depending on where the dock is, the run passes drawbridges whose clearance and schedule we check against your boat.
What are the 33458, 33477 and 33478 zip codes?
Jupiter’s three zip codes. 33477 is the east side, including the Bluffs and Admirals Cove; 33458 covers the center and west of town, including Abacoa; 33478 is Jupiter Farms and the unincorporated land to the west. A Jupiter mailing address can sit in the Town of Jupiter, in unincorporated Palm Beach County or, at Islands of Jupiter, in Martin County, which changes the taxes and the permits.
How far is Jupiter from the airport?
Palm Beach International is about 25 minutes south on I-95. Fort Lauderdale is about 75 minutes, and Miami 90 minutes to two hours depending on traffic.
Can I rent out a home or condo in Jupiter?
Rental rules are set by each community’s documents: the minimum lease, how many leases a year and whether the association approves tenants. Some Jupiter condominiums allow seasonal leases and others require a year. We read the declaration before you count on rental income.
What should I know about flood insurance in Jupiter?
Flood zones change from street to street, especially near the river and the Intracoastal. We get the flood zone and an elevation certificate for the address and request wind and flood quotes during the inspection period, so the carrying cost is known before you close.
